A mock magazine cover for a university assignment, based on the theme 'space, time and motion'.
I wanted a name and masthead that was strong visually but also linked in to the content of the magazine. The idea orginally came from thinking about light refracting through a triangular prism, which is why the masthead uses overlapping colours. But as I developed the concept further to include geometric prisms, referencing the old artistic principle that any form can be constructed by using simple shapes.
In order to establish the covers as a series, I planned to apply this second concept to all of my future covers too, by using a triangle, circle, and square somewhere within the image. The idea behind this cover came from thinking about camoflauge in nature. I figured what better way to draw attention to pattern and texutre by removing it completely?
Critique and feedback very much appreciated, as always! Thanks for stopping by!
